About This Episode:

How do I get a fresh anointing from God?

We find the answer in the Word of God! We do not have to be distant from God because of His mystery; God follows patterns. What bothered God two thousand years ago still bothers Him today. Let’s apply Scripture prophetically to our lives.

In Mark 12, Jesus tells the Parable of the Tenants. Just as the tenants dishonored the master and killed his son, as the Pharisees and other Jewish people rejected and ultimately crucified Jesus, people today want their own ways and do not allow God to rule over their lives. Churches today even emphasize Jesus as the one who saves believers from hell while de-emphasizing His lordship over our lives. When anyone rejects God’s rule and reign, God takes what He gave and gives it to someone else. God takes the anointing, and a “change of hands” or shift of His anointing begins.

Revival is not just jumping up and down or singing longer and louder.  When the power and presence of God hits, it brings us to our knees.

Here comes a fresh anointing from God! When the power of God breaks out, God might pick the most unlikely of people to receive His anointing. We can position ourselves and make ourselves open to receiving His mantle and fresh anointing. It all starts with seeking God and loving Him with all our hearts, minds, souls, and strength.

Further Bible Reading:

Mark 12:1-9 (NIV)

1 Jesus then began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a pit for the winepress and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place. At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants to collect from them some of the fruit of the vineyard. But they seized him, beat him and sent him away empty-handed. Then he sent another servant to them; they struck this man on the head and treated him shamefully. He sent still another, and that one they killed. He sent many others; some of them they beat, others they killed. “He had one left to send, a son, whom he loved. He sent him last of all, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ “But the tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ So they took him and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard. “What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others.

Mark 12:30 (NIV)

‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'

Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

1 Kings 19:19 (NIV)

So Elijah went from there and found Elisha son of Shaphat. He was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen, and he himself was driving the twelfth pair. Elijah went up to him and threw his cloak around him.
Questions:
  • How do the parables that Jesus told relate to us today?
  • Is there a fresh anointing available today?
  • Have I positioned myself to be picked by God and receive the fresh anointing or mantle?
  • Have I discounted myself from receiving God’s anointing?
  • If yes, how can I change and open myself up to God?
  • Am I truly seeking God with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength?

Quotes to Remember:
02:58 God follows patterns. If He didn’t like something during Bible times, He doesn’t like it today!

08:31 You can’t make [Jesus] Savior and not Lord. He is Savior and Lord. Some people want to get saved so they can go to heaven and not hell, but they don’t want Him to be Lord over their lives.

14:59 Why would He give me an opportunity? … People gave up their opportunity, and now it’s going to go to someone else who wouldn’t have had the opportunity.

16:09 Revival is not just jumping up and down or singing longer and louder. When the power and presence of God hits, it brings us to our knees.

19:13 The mantle of Elijah is in the air. Who is it going to land on? Those who are truth seekers of God. Those who truly want to love the Lord their God with all their heart, their soul, their mind, and put their strength in it!
