Hebrews 12:14 says, “Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.”
God commands us: Make every effort to be holy. Unfortunately, many Christians make NO effort to be holy.
What is holiness? It’s not an action. It’s a position. Holiness means to be set apart, for God’s use only.
Most people go to work every day. If we set ourselves apart for doing our day jobs, then that means that we can definitely set ourselves apart for our God!
How do I best represent God? You must still be honorable and do your job during work hours. But you are a light while you’re at work, and everywhere else you go.
How To Make Every Effort to be Holy:
Refuse to be angry, bitter, and un-Godly.
Make a purposeful decision about what you participate in.
Make every effort to set yourself apart from worldliness. Stay away from worldly ways, attitudes, and habits.
Be revival-minded.
It starts with you. God is not asking for perfection. Your every effort to be holy for God sets you on the road to holiness and revival.
13 “I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.
14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.
15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.

What should holiness look like in my life and inside myself?
Are there any particular worldly attitudes, behaviors, or habits I need to fix?
Are there any specific people, places, or things I need to start setting myself apart from?
What will I do differently and change in my life so that I can make every effort to be holy for God?
02:45When you want a move of God, and you know holiness is part of it, you want to make every effort to be holy. At the same time, you need help through the Holy Spirit to be in a holy position beyond human effort. It starts with my desire to be holy.
03:46Holiness is not an action, even though it has action. Holiness is a position. To be set apart.
04:00The holy things in the tabernacle were holy because they didn’t do anything else but be used for God. They were for God’s use.
