Are we more than conquerors? We should be—in Christ. That’s why we need revival.
Our world is in transition, and we need God to move! A lot of people are thinking and feeling this, but they’re too busy focused on God working in government, in schools, in international crises, etc. But what we really need to focus on is getting God in our churches!
The religious people in Jesus’ day mistakenly thought that God was present in the Temple. However, God was not pleased with how His House had been turned into a “den of robbers.” And nobody said anything until Jesus came on the scene.
It tell us in Romans 8:37, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” So, we’re not even conquerors when we don’t have God in our churches and in our lives. We start becoming conquerors and more when God starts moving in our midst.
And Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” That doesn’t mean everything is automatically perfect for us. We must love God. We must live and work according to His purpose–not our own. Only then will God work powerfully on our behalf.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” (Romans 8:35). No one can—except us. The love of Christ is value. Nothing has the power to devalue you when you have the love of God. So why are you allowing all this stuff in life to devalue you? The problem is that we become victims when we are supposed to be more than conquerors! At the same time, some preachers and churches make the people the merchandise and enable them to stay victims.
We need a revival! Let’s get back to understanding: What is God’s purpose?
Church is meant to gather people together to praise God, bless Him, and establish who God is. It’s not about us but all about Him. Then God will pour out His blessings and make us strong.
Romans 8:28, 32 (NIV)
28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Romans 8:35-39 (NIV)
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
