“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you,” Jesus told His disciples in Acts 1:8.
Be filled with the Holy Spirit!
The Holy Spirit is involved with every revival and move of God, where people become changed forever. Some people talk revival and lead good services, but they don’t really believe that the power of God is for today. They say that the power of Jesus died with the last apostle—and will only return with the return of Jesus. But how can you participate in a move of God if you believe the power of God has been dead for two thousand years?
Pentecost was a great revival. All 120 people in the upper room were filled with the Spirit, and all spoke in tongues. But today, many people today don’t believe in speaking in tongues, or else they haven’t experienced it.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
The Holy Spirit is alive and moving. So how can the works of the Spirit that we read about in the Bible be wrong or dead today?
We are saved by Jesus. He is the one who baptizes us in the Holy Spirit. Then the Spirit gets to work in our lives. We must let Him in! Why? Because it is the Spirit that convicts us of sin, reveals Jesus to us, and causes us to repent.
You won’t have a move of God if you deny the power of the Holy Spirit. So, let’s be filled with the Spirit, be transformed, and walk in His power!
Read Acts 2 for the Holy Spirit encounter on Pentecost in the Upper Room.
Matthew 3:11 (NIV)
“I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
Ephesians 5:18 (NIV)
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
